RED YARN-- Music and Puppetry
Join Portland-area children’s music performer and teaching artist Red Yarn (Andy Furgeson) for an engaging workshop designed for preschool teachers and childcare providers.
In this workshop, Red Yarn will share accessible strategies for bringing music and puppetry into the classroom. From simple songs that support classroom routines to songwriting activities for nonmusicians, participants will explore easy puppet-making projects and ways to address challenging topics through puppetry. Drawing on 20 years of experience in arts education, Red Yarn will inspire teachers to integrate music and puppetry into their teaching practices—all while singing, dancing, stomping, clapping, laughing, and learning together.
Set 1 CKC: LEC
Earn 2 hours of Set 1 professional development hours toward your licensing requirements.
